The hotel Catalonia Ramblas is located in the historic centre of Barcelona, few metres away from la Plaza de Catalunya and the famous Ramblas.
Housed in the former head office of the newspaper “La Vanguardia”, the hotel is a beautiful modernist building dating back to the beginning of the XIX century and designed by Josep Majó Ribas.

Without a doubt, its zone of Spa and Relax as well as its swimming pool located in the inner patio, will delight those who wish to relax after an intense day of work or tourist visit.

The hotel completes its offer with 9 diaphanous meeting rooms to celebrate any event, 2 Mediterranean cuisine restaurants, a bar and a fitness room.

It was right in the middle of the city and herself was delighted as it was on one of the main streets with all the famous Spanish retailers. Even when we slept in, somebody remembered to come and clean our room in the evening and they had spare adapters for UK and Irish plugs at the front desk.

Not that it mattered much but, of the 3 English TV channels were all news channels

excellent location

impersonal - shower didn't work and despite notifying the staff it didn't get fixed - tea & coffee facilities in room not restocked overnight

decoration of rooms, and that I have the possibility to make a coffe in the room

In the bathroom durring the night I see bugs...And the noise from corridors was impossible in the evening and early morning....the sound isolation of the walls was verry inneficient . You could here every person was passing on the corridor especialy if was wearring high hills...

The staff at reception was extremly helpless. The pool is not cleaned. The climate control is too noisy.

Pleasant hotel/spa & steam room/sauna very goodContinuation of box below...the hotel tried to charge e258 per night,considerably more than the quoted price when booking

We did not like the fact that our first night the accomodation was not available and we had to spend this at an alternative hotel,which meant disruption to our 5 night stay.We chose the hotel because of the leisure facilities and pool but the pool was not heated and therefore too cold to use and the "gym" facilities were very limited.The hotel @ e245.03 per night(excluding breakfast)was not cheap

The location of the hotel was excellent. All the staff we met in our five days were very pleasant (except one) The hotel was very clean & our room was very spacious and modern and quiet - all the complaints I had read about seem to have been addressed. The pool area was lovely although closed.

One member of reception staff - Raoul - was extremely unhelpful to the point of rudeness. We chose to ignore him and seek help elsewhere!

The hotel was brilliantly located and quiet at night.

Rooms were quite small and the view out the window was a brickwall.

Design of room, facilities. The style and location of the hotel.

After 2 days the wireless stopped working. I informaed the hotel staff about it, but they could not fix the problem during the next 3 days!
